People the most undervalued asset in America

Knowledge is true measure of wealth. Wealth is found in knowing one should accumulate as much knowledge as possible. The most important knowledge that remains unknown in America to many is…people.

People are not dollar signs. People are not intangibles to be stepped over. People are not black and white.

People are sentient beings that deserve to be valued as individuals. The most important thing in business is to personally know the individual you will work with.

What makes me successful in my interactions is simple. I don’t ask “What do you do for a living?” when I first meet someone. To be honest I don’t care what a person does for a living. I am not class conscious from the prospective of money. I am class conscious from the prospective of values.

Too many people emphasize the deal instead of the person.

A sh** bag is a sh** bag no matter how much money they have. I don’t want anything to do with a low grade person. Money will never equal respect in my eyes. The ability to look the other way and not worry what you are doing behind my back is the single most valuable commodity to command my respect.

Be a person of value not a person of wealth. This is my favorite one liner to say to people. I would encourage you to pick it up as well.

I will take a 5% return in paradise compared to a 50% return in hell any day of the week. Money should never be the driver of decision processes.

Success is measured by consistent, reliable small victories. Chasing big scores is low probability. Low probability means low success chances. Low success plays are inconsistent. Highly probable incremental gains are the most efficient way to amass a fortune. Highly probable actions are consistent.

Consistency is the most valuable commodity in life.

Consistency starts with character first. Character is who a person is when no one is looking. Anyone can put on a great show but who is the showman behind the curtain?

A person cannot be one way individually and another way in business. I don’t ascribe to the idea personal characteristics are separate from business. Business is an expression of individual characteristics. These characteristics shape the culture of a business. The obvious linkage of personal characteristics to business makes business personal to me. I don’t mean personal in the traditional sense.

You don’t need to involve your kids in a business meeting but it is important for me to know the way you treat your kids. If you can’t take care of those that depend most on you, it’s obvious you won’t take care of me when I need you most.

People make decisions based on their personal values not business values. Never forget that. I hope this gives you a little insight into huge value. Never forget what drives real value in business. It’s the same thing as what drives meaning in your personal life. Be around good people or don’t be around them at all. Follow me on or subscribe to my to learn more insightful advice.

To your knowledge success!
